Inateck 36W USB Charger UC4003B Review

35

Rating: 3.5/5

Pros:

  • Charges multiple devices at once
  • Full speed charging up to 2.4A per port

Cons:

  • Collects a lot of dust and fingerprints
  • Phone stand may not fit a phone with a case on it
  • Has almost no weight to it so it slides around on the counter too easily

Summary:  With four USB ports, the Inateck UC4003B charger has enough ports for all your devices and enough power to charge them all at full 2.4A speed. While there are a few things that could use improvement, notably the weight and finish, this charger does exactly what it advertises.

Build Quality & Appearance

When I pulled the charger out of the package, the first thing I noticed was how shiny it was. At first it looked great, but after handling it I noticed how easily it picks up finger prints and dust. If you tend to nitpick over the appearance of your devices, the glossiness of this charger may bother you.

The overall build quality is good. It’s made out of a solid plastic and does not flex at all. The USB ports have a solid connection and the power cable is long enough to reach the plug in from my counter. It has a bright white light to indicate that it is plugged in.

One thing that stood out to me was how light weight this charger is. Unfortunately that means it tends to slide around on the desk when adjusting cables. I wish there was just a little bit more weight to it or better rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn’t slide. Because it moves around so easily I don’t see myself actually using the phone stand much. It’s not unstable, but I’d just get my finger prints all over the charger base when pulling my phone out of it.

Performance

Overall performance of this charger is great. With 4 devices plugged in, I was able to charge them all at full speed. It supports up to 2.4A – what that means is it will support fast charging for most phones and some tablets. Every device I tested it with worked just fine.

Conclusion

I almost always have 2 or 3 devices that need to be charged at once and not enough USB adapters to support them all. This charger solves that problem in a fairly elegant solution. I wouldn’t buy it for the stand feature in specific, as it doesn’t fit phones with a thick case on them, but as a multi port charger it works very well.

Other Notes

Included in package is the charger base, an adapter for thinner smartphones and a power adapter.
