What I Like:

Good build quality and excellent packaging
Solid mounting hardware
Works perfectly with flat back devices
Metal plate hides behind a thin TPU case
Metal plates are not magnets themselves
Magnets did not interfere with compass on tested phones

What I Don’t Like:

Metal plate blocks NFC communication
Magnetic support not strong enough to work with thick cases (ie: otterbox)

Conclusion: An air vent mount is an elegant solution to mount a phone to a car dashboard. The Lention mount is good looking and holds most smartphones pretty well after a few tweaks. There are two things to keep in mind before purchasing: first, if you phone has a curved back, this mount may not work for you. I tried it on my LG G4 and the magnetic plate does not mount flush behind my case and leaves me with a weird bulge. This is not an issue with a flat backed phone as the flat plate will be flush to the phone. I ended up bending the plate a bit to get it to fit snug under my case. The second thing to keep in mind is your case itself. I tried the mount with multiple cases and the thin TPU case worked best. Out of the box, the Lention would not hold with my heavy duty case and the phone would fall off on any bumps. I added a stronger magnet to the mounting hardware so it holds better and now the mount works just fine. It’s great to just push a phone onto it and pull it off when I’m done driving without having to worry about clipping and unclipping. Just be aware that if you have a heavy phone or thick case it may not hold as well as a mount that physically grips the phone in place.
